Conductivity Rods in Cardboard Tube
Order code: SC7239A set of six, 300x3mm metal rods, to show the physical properties of: aluminium, brass, copper, iron, lead and stainless steel. Also use for conductivity experiments.
Do not place the rods in a bunsen or similar flame.
A common use for these rods is to compare the heat transfer rate of the different metals by placing wax on their ends, placing the unwaxed ends in water and observing how long it takes the wax to melt as the water is heated.
Can also be used to compare magnetic, electrical conduction, strength, malleability and similar characteristics.
These rods replace the old SC7238 Conductivity Rods Boxed Set.
