IEC PHOTOELECTRIC EFFECT LED PLANCK'S CONSTANT
A version of IEC's Photo Electric Effect with LED light sources and two digital meters to simultaneously display both the current through the internal photo-cell in nanoamps and the backing voltage applied to the cell to bring the current to exactly zero.

A set of 5 LEDs selectable from the front panel provides the light source.
They are mounted on a small panel that slides onto the rear of the unit to place the LEDs directly in front of the cell. A small cable connects the LEDs to the instrument for selection and brightness control.

Note:
The traditional light source and filters can be used with this model but are not supplied. They can be borrowed from an older model instrument or purchased separately as PA2342-150 IEC Photo-Electric Effect Lamp and Filter Kit.

Be aware:
The unit is powered by a 12V AC or DC plug pack (not supplied) or by banana plugs from any normal school power supply. A suitable plug pack is the PA4096-020.

Experiments can be performed in the following areas:
• Photo Electric Effect - that light can create an electric current
• Illumination / Current relationship - that current changes with luminous intensity
• Energy of a Photon - that a photon can drive an electron from a surface
• Planck’s Constant - the amazing relationship between energy and wavelength
• Energy Distribution - where the energy is expended
