IEC Search Coil for Magnetic Experiments Lateral Winding
Order code: EM3745-001IEC SEARCH COIL FOR MAGNETIC EXPERIMENTS LATERAL WINDING
A search coil is used to measure field strengths and flux densities between the poles of electromagnets. Either an oscilloscope is connected to measure the induced voltages or AC or DC currents are passed through the coils to study the effects.
The small coils are wound with 5000 turns of very fine wire and are mounted to fibreglass circuit board strips that are very strong, electrically insulating and non-magnetic. Connections are at made at the opposite end of the strip with 4mm sockets.
This lateral model has the coil mounted to one side of the blade so that its axis is at 90° to the axis of the blade.
Also available as an axial model with the coil mounted with its axis parallel to the axis of the long blade.
