IEC Thermopile Hot/Cold on Heat Sink with Sockets
Order code: HL4052-001IEC THERMOPILE HOT/COLD ON HEAT SINK
A demonstration device that consists of a special cell mounted to a heat sink to demonstrate the unusual principle of both absorbing heat and liberating heat on the one device. Many thermocouple joints are all bonded to two flat plates to form this Thermogenerator. When electricity is passed through these joints, one side of the cell becomes hot and the other side becomes cold.
This is called the ‘Peltier Effect’ and is the reverse of a thermocouple.
These cells are used in electronic circuits to keep electronic devices cool and also in food and drink mini coolers for cars where they run from the 12 volt car battery.
