IEC VOLTAGE REFERENCE 10V/1V/5mA MAX
The IEC Voltage Reference is a modern electronic replacement for the old Weston Standard Cell. It contains two 9V #216 batteries and provides a very accurate 1.00V and 10.00V that can be used for calibrating instruments such as meters, multimeters and oscilloscopes.

It is useful also as a reference voltage in circuits and bridge circuits involving the measurement of resistance. The Weston Cell can supply only very small current, but the electronic replacement can supply up to 5mA into any load without losing accuracy.
