Super Conductivity - Levitation Kit
Order code: SC7083A demonstration set to show the Meissner Effect and how magnets can levitate above a super conductor.
The super conductor is only super conducting at very low temperatures and so liquid nitrogen (not supplied) is poured into the petri dish. The super conductor is then placed in the petri dish containing the liquid nitrogen. Once the super conductor is chilled the magnet is placed above it. The magnet will hover indefinitely while the super conductor remains chilled.
