IEC CIRCULAR MOTION KIT
The IEC Circular Motion Kit with integrated speed controller swings a mass in a circular orbit under controlled conditions. Measurements are made on orbit diameter, mass of the projectile and revolutions per minute. Mechanical experiments on circular motion can be performed with excellent accuracy.
The circular motion kit mounts on a retort stand (not supplied) and a rubber ball is attached to a reinforced disc with a fine metal chain. The disc is driven at a constant speed by the small electric motor and speed can be adjusted using the built-in variable speed controller.
Included:
• Motor complete with electronic speed controller and disc mounted on support tube with cable and banana plugs
• 3 special rubber masses approximately 20mm x 4g, 25mm x 8g, 32mm x 16g, with measurement reference line, mass in grams marked on each and a loop for attachment to light chain or cord
• 3 very light alloy chains cut to different lengths
• 4 metal clips to connect each chain to a mass and the motor disc
• Set of experiment notes
Required but not included:
• 8 to 12V AC or DC power supply and leads
• Retort stand and bosshead
