IEC COMPOUND BAR 100mm WITH HANDLE
A bimetal or compound bar 100 x 12.5mm made from two metals of different heat expansion coefficients bonded together face to face into a single strip of metal. The two metals are made obvious by their different colours - one coppery and one silvery.

When heated the bar curves to demonstration the different expansions of the two metals.

The handle welded to this compound bar is made of stainless steel for poor heat conductivity.
