IEC CONDUCTIVITY RING 4 DIFFERENT METALS
The IEC Conductivity Ring is a classic device to demonstrate the different heat conductivity of different metals. The strong die-cast aluminium ring has small rails for the marked brass, aluminium, iron and copper strips to sit on. The rails reduce thermal loss into the ring.

A small piece of wax is placed in the depression provided at the tips of each strip and the centre of the ring is heated. The melting of the wax indicates the ability of each strip to conduct heat.
