A small DC motor in a frame with gears. Crank the motor to produce a DC voltage. Or apply a DC voltage to the motor to drive the motor.
An ideal energy transformation demonstrator.
A great demonstration is to short circuit the motor and note how hard it is to turn the cranking handle.
