IEC ELECTRIC MOTOR GENERATOR 12V DC
Great for experiments in energy conversion, the IEC Electric Motor Generator Set consists of two medium sized DC electric motors securely mounted on a small base. The motors are coupled together by pulleys and a small rubber belt. The pulleys are equal size and therefore the ratio is 1:1.
Each motor can be run as a motor or a DC generator or both can be run as motors that can either add or subtract their powers. The motors have been chosen so that reasonable efficiency figures can be obtained.
Conversion from electrical to mechanical energy and from mechanical to electrical can be studied together with experiments in motor efficiency, power, torque, work done, losses and generator efficiency.
Connection to each motor is by 4mm banana plug.
