MINI-WINDMILL STEM KIT FOR 10 WINDMILLS
Build a mini windmill and discover how the wind can do work! Use basic materials like paper plates and straws to construct a windmill that spins in the wind in order to lift weight. The mini windmill kit is an excellent way to help young students build an understanding of how to harness wind power to do work.

This kit contains enough materials to build 10 windmills and requires approximately 1 class period.

Recommended age range: K to Year 4

Includes:
• Foam cylinders
• Paper plates
• Skewers
• Straws
• Paper cups
• String
• Washers
• Double sided foam tape
• Downloadable activity guide

Additional materials required:
• Electric fan
• Scissors

Note: To encourage students to investigate wind power, alternative blade materials can also be used eg: paper cups, scrap cardboard and really anything that will catch the wind.
