MACGYVER WINDMILL STEM KIT BUILDS 20 WINDMILLS.
Use common household materials to build a windmill and experiment with wind power. Explore the engineering behind blade design and windmill construction.

This kit contains enough materials for 20-60 students to build 20 windmills and requires approximately 2 class periods.

Recommended year range: Years 6 to 12

Includes:
• Wooden dowel
• Plastic sleeves
• Foam cylinders
• Skewers
• Index cards
• String
• Cups
• Washers
• Wooden spools with three diameters

Additional materials required:
• Electric fan
• Tape and/or hot glue gun
• Scissors

Note: To encourage students to investigate wind power, alternative blade materials can also be used eg: paper cups, scrap cardboard, house sale signs, pie pans and really anything that will catch the wind.
