IEC JOULE'S CALORIMETER ASSEMBLY
The IEC Joule's Calorimeter is a standard 50mmD x 75mmH copper calorimeter cup with the 'Joule's Insert' fitted.
The Joule's Insert consists of a calorimeter lid with stirrer and two 4mm banana socket supporting two conducting rods that carry a 2 ohm resistance heating coil.
When fitted to a calorimeter cup, a certain weight of water can be heated a certain number of degrees and the electrical energy required to do this can be accurately measured.
This is often used with the HL0830-001 insulating box and lid.
